Motor Vehicle and Motorcycle students gain IMI Awards
Motor Vehicle and Motorcycle students at Braintree College have gained Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) awards in recognition of their achievements. The IMI is the professional body for training and qualifications in the Motor Industry. The students attended the IMI County of Essex Membership Association presentation evening at Epping Forest College where they received their awards.
Tom Brown received the Level 2 Student of the Year Award for Light Vehicle; he has completed the IMI Technical Certificate in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair and is enrolled at the College on a Motor Vehicle Apprenticeship. Tom is employed at Braintree Motor Company.
Motorcycle student Tony Lester received the Most Promising Student of the Year Award (Motorcycle) after completing the VRQ Technical Certificate in Motorcycle Maintenance and Repair. Tony has gained an Apprenticeship with Cannon BMW in Braintree.

Lecturer Adrian Clarke said: “We are delighted for both Tom and Tony, their achievements show that we are meeting the high standards demanded by the Motor Industry. Our workshops offer excellent resources, enabling trainees to use advanced motor vehicle technologies and we work in close partnership with employers throughout north Essex.”
