Jack Petchey Achievement Award winner Lu Xi
Lu Xi applied for the BTEC First Diploma in Art and Design to achieve grades in the UK as the qualifications she gained in China were not transferable. She has worked really hard to overcome language barriers and has become a very confident member of the class. Lu Xi achieved a Distinction for her work for the Africa illustration project, which combined aspects of African culture with Chinese and Western influences. Lu Xi was nominated for the Jack Petchey Achievement Award by lecturers Tansy Pye and James Kinder, Pastoral Tutor Mandy Lawrence and Stuart Cooper, Curriculum Area Manager for Creative Arts and Media.
