Childcare Students’ Fashion Show Raises funds for Children in Goa
A fashion show organised by second year CACHE and BTEC Childcare students at Braintree College raised over £350 for charities supporting orphans and street children in Goa. Students modelled a range of winter clothes from the company ‘Wardrobe Mistress’ which offers schools and colleges discounted prices for clothes and accessories.
Michelle Kennedy, Coordinator for Health and Childcare said, ‘The fashion show was a complete success and we are especially grateful for the support from the Performing Arts and Media teams. Next year we are planning to repeat the event with clothes from the summer collection.’
Michelle continued, ‘The Childcare students will be visiting Goa in February 2010 to extend their knowledge on caring for children in underprivileged areas. Money raised from the fashion show will go towards providing clothes, shoes and food for the children, and equipment including a laptop and digital camera.’
