Brush Up English

What will I study?

The nuts and bolts of the English language; this is not a literature course. This course aims to help you to understand how English works so that you can make it work for you. You will study grammar, spelling, reading, writing, sentence structure, proofreading and punctuation in projects that are fun and relevant to your everyday lives. Examples of projects studied in the past are:

Campaign - Choose a cause you feel strongly about and then use the right methods to persuade people to back your campaign.

Project Cookbook - Write your own recipe and ask someone else to follow it and cook it.

Literacy at Work - Study the language of the workplace, and create CVs and job letters.

Who is it for?

Anyone over the age of 16. There is no upper age limit. All sorts of different people study Brush Up English: people who want to work in education, people who want to help their children with their homework, people looking for jobs etc.
