Level 1 Award in Photography
You will learn the basic skills and techniques in photo imaging to enable you to go on to further study and on to potential future employment in the photography sector.
During the one year course you will work in groups and individually to develop skills including taking photographs, presenting photos in exciting ways and manipulating digital images. You will also learn the skills and knowledge needed for event and landscape photography and work towards Certificates in Specialist Photography. Assessment is by practical and written coursework.
There are no formal entry requirements for this Level 1 qualification however you will need to complete a successful interview.
Level 2 Award in Photography
On the new Level 2 Award in Photography you will learn a range of skills and techniques in photo imaging to enable you to go on to further study and on to potential future employment in the photography sector.
During the one year course you will work in groups and individually to develop skills including digital photography and wet processing in the darkroom. You will also learn how to manipulate film and digital images using editing software including Photoshop. Assessment is by practical and written coursework.
The entry requirement for this Level 2 qualification is a Level 1 City and Guilds Award in Photography, or 3 GCSEs at grade D. You will also need to complete a successful interview.
Additional costs for the courses may include some materials and educational visits. Assistance may be available through the Learner Support Fund.
