Student Advice and Guidance
Whilst at College you are encouraged to become as independent as possible, but you will be fully supported by your pastoral tutor, course tutors and our Student Welfare officer.
We are committed to providing quality impartial advice and support to all students.
A dedicated welfare officer is available to offer free and impartial advice on a number of areas including benefits, finances, travel, living accommodation and other welfare issues.
The main funds for FE students include:
- Learner Support Funds (formerly known as the Access fund)
- Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA)
- Care to Learn (for students under 20 to pay for childcare and associated travel costs)
- Adult Learning Grant (students must be 19 to European retirement age to qualify)
We can provide:
- Up-to-date advice on how to access funding that you might be eligible for
- Help with accessing extra financial support if you are experiencing financial difficulty
You can make an appointment to see the Welfare officer. Call on 01376 321711 for further details.
